How do I choose a handyman?
Inviting someone into your home can be a nerve racking experience. You could hire me for a smaller job to start and you can see how I work. I don’t mind homeowners asking questions or checking in to see my work. It’s your home and you can expect the most professional job possible.
What is the best way to hire you?
How do you charge for your services?
It depends on the situation. It could be:
- by the job
- hourly (often will work hourly for first time clients)
- by the 1/2 day or full day
Do you have employees or use subcontractors?
No, not at this time.
Do you provide your own tools?
Yes, I have all my own tools. If a rental tool is required, this will be discussed before the job.
Do you provide estimates?
Typically no. Often I work hourly because of the nature of handyman work and doing a variety of small to larger tasks in one visit.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, I have liability insurance.
What experience do you have?
I’m mostly self taught doing hundreds of jobs, though I have apprenticed with some very good carpenters. In addition, I have experience working on my own properties and working with and for contractors. I continue to learn new things every week, which I love!
Do you have height limits for what you'll work on?
Yes. I can comfortably work at 12ft. from my 8ft. ladder, and I do have an extension ladder to get to about 15 feet.
Do you work on roofs?
No.
What areas do you work in?
Within the Denver Metro area, up to 15 miles outside the city of Denver. I would consider further distance or mountain work with accommodations provided.
What information can the customer provide?
Access to the job: is this a single family home, apartment, or condo? Also, please suggest where to park. I will take out up to 30 different tools and supplies from my vehicle, so I try to park as close to job as possible.
